On Sunday, 21st September, members of The Church of Pentecost in Spain gathered at the UAB Campus Hotel Auditorium. The occasion was the retirement service of Apostle Emmanuel Amarh Quaye and his wife, Mrs. Matilda Quaye, after four years of service in Spain and two decades in ministry across Europe.

Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe preached on “Time of Service” from Luke 1:23. He emphasized that ministry is service and service is time-bound. What matters most is not the length of service but the impact made. He spoke on the difference between Chronos (measured time) and Kairos (God’s appointed time). He reminded the church not to miss their Kairos moments.

After the message, the congregation prayed for healing, breakthrough, and renewal.

Apostle Quaye’s Work in Spain

When Apostle Quaye and his wife arrived in Spain in late 2021, the church had 41 assemblies in 9 districts. By 2025, the church had grown to 45 assemblies in 10 districts. His tenure was marked by steady growth, strong administration, and youth empowerment. Some of his notable achievements include:

  • Acquisition of a new national church building in Tarragona.

  • Steps toward securing another property in Vitoria (Logroño District).

  • Establishing Andorra as a national mission.

  • Planting new PIWC assemblies in Barcelona and Zaragoza.

  • Reviving and expanding youth and PENSA ministries with national camps in Barcelona and Tarragona.

  • Empowering young people to serve as finance officers, interpreters, and media leaders.

  • Introducing financial reforms, including tax-compliant tithing and district-level accounts.

  • Strengthening media ministry with livestreams, digital tools, and social media.

  • Releasing three lay leaders into full-time ministry.

Mrs. Matilda Quaye also strengthened the Women’s Ministry in Spain. She organized national conventions, founded the Virtuous Ladies Wing for young women, and mentored pastors’ wives and families. Many testify of her practical teaching, hospitality, and prayers.

Induction of the New National Head

The service also marked the induction of Apostle Gordon Opoku Boakye as the new National Head of The Church of Pentecost, Spain. Together with his wife, Mrs. Stella Boakye, he was welcomed, prayed for, and charged to continue the work.

Closing

The day ended with offerings, thanksgiving, and closing prayer. The church honored Apostle and Mrs. Quaye for their years of faithful service and embraced a new chapter under Apostle and Mrs. Opoku Boakye.
