Defending What is Rightfully Yours - Pastor Stephen Bonnah

In a powerful message delivered during the first National Mega Watchnight of 2024, Pastor Stephen Bonnah delved into the theme “Defending what is rightfully yours”, drawing insights from Ephesians 6:10-12. He reminded the congregation of the spiritual warfare Christians face and the importance of putting on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Drawing parallels from the world of sports, Pastor Bonnah likened the Christian journey to a football match where defense is crucial to securing victory. He emphasized that the battle Christians face is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil.

Referencing John 10:10, Pastor Bonnah highlighted the enemy's agenda to steal, kill, and destroy. He narrated the story from 1 Kings 3:16-27, where a mother fought for the life of her child, symbolizing the need for believers to advocate for what rightfully belongs to them before God, who is just and wise.

Citing James 4:7, Pastor Bonnah encouraged believers to submit to God and resist the devil, promising that the devil will flee. He urged the congregation to emulate the courage of Shammah from 2 Samuel 23:11-12, who defended his field against the Philistines and achieved victory with the help of the Lord.

The sermon highlighted various areas the enemy attacks, including vision, joy, destiny helpers, finances, health, time, and even marriages. Pastor Bonnah stressed the importance of vigilance and prayer to prevent the enemy from stealing these blessings. Drawing insights from 1 Peter 5:8, believers were reminded to be alert and sober-minded, knowing that the devil seeks to devour. Through prayer and faith, believers can recover everything stolen by the enemy, just as David did in 1 Samuel 30:18-20.

In conclusion, Pastor Bonnah emphasized the need for believers to actively engage in spiritual warfare, putting on the complete armor of God daily. As soldiers in God's army, Christians are equipped with the tools to overcome the forces of evil and claim victory in Christ.
